Service Description

Guided Play is designed for players who know the basics but aren’t quite ready to jump into full Social Play on their own. Think of it as Mahjong with training wheels. You understand the flow of the game, but you still want a little support, reassurance, and strategy guidance while you play. This session bridges the gap between class instruction and independent social play. Guided Play allows you to practice in a real game setting while having an instructor available for clarification, coaching, and confidence-building. What to Expect • Small-group supported play • Instructor guidance during live games • Help with Charleston decisions • Strategy reminders and defensive play tips • A welcoming, low-pressure environment This is not a full instructional class — but it is not fully independent Social Play either. It is the in-between step that helps you feel ready. Who This Session Is For • Players who have completed Mahjong 101 • Players who have taken Mahjong 102 but want more practice • Anyone who knows the basics but still needs reassurance • Players who want to build speed and confidence before Social Play Class Size & Structure Limited to 10 players with 8 players playing and two observing and rotating in each game. All Mahjong supplies are provided. Food & Drink Both locations offer beverages for purchase and have craft beer, cider, seltzer, wine, and non-alcoholic options. Odd BBQ is located inside Ono Brewing and offers delicious BBQ if you'd like to grab a bite before class. Ono Offshore only offers snacks like chips, nuts etc. Please note there is not enough space at the Mahjong tables for full meals, but small table snacks and beverages are accetable. Players are encouraged to arrive a few minutes early to settle in and meet other participants before play begins. Refund / Cancellation Policy: Due to limited seating and advance planning required for our classes and events, all registrations are final and non-refundable. Please confirm your availability before completing your booking. If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your seat to another participant with advance notice. Simply email us the new participant’s name so we can update the roster prior to the event. No-shows or last-minute cancellations cannot be credited or refunded.
