$55,841.23 donated since September 2017

At Ono Brewing Company, we are committed to building community within our tasting room as well as supporting the community outside the walls of our tasting room by selecting a different local charity to support each month.

Each month, Ono Brewing Company donates 50% of all tips/gratuities earned to a local charity.

The remaining 50% is shared by our outstanding tasting room attendants.

For October, we are supporting Homeward Trails Animal Rescue in their mission to find permanent adoptive homes in the Mid-Atlantic Region for dogs and cats from under resourced shelters or whose owners can no longer care for them. Join us for an adoption event at Ono on Sunday, October 27!

If you have suggestions for a local charity that we should consider supporting, please feel free to chat with Cyndi if she is working or contact her at cyndi@onobrewco.com.

August 2019 $2820.95 donated to:

Assistance League of Northern Virginia

We supported Assistance League of Northern Virginia’s "New Clothing for Kids" program to help their Back to School demand for new clothing. The funds are being used to purchase essential new clothing and shoes for elementary school children in need at nine schools located in Fairfax and Prince William Counties and the City of Alexandria. With the funds received, Assistance League will be able to purchase more than 250 items of clothing (t-shirts, pants, socks, underwear, sweatshirts, and coats), and approximately 40 pairs of new shoes.

July 2019 $2619.86 donated to:

Paws of Honor

The goal of Paws of Honor (POH) is to provide veterinary care and products at no charge* for retired military and law enforcement K-9’s in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area that have served our country, locally or globally. Retired K-9’s deserve accessible, high quality veterinary care in return for their commitment and sacrifice for our country and the monetary burden associated with veterinary care should not fall on the shoulders of the officer/handler/owner once the K-9 has been decommissioned.

June 2019 $2894.14 donated to:

Team Mathias

Mathias Giordano was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, cancer of the bone, in July 2012 at the age of 11, and lost his battle at the age of 13. We supported Team Mathias, a local non-profit in Leesburg, during the month of June in honor of Mathias’s birth month. Mathias loved soccer. We helped Team Mathias help local families impacted by childhood cancer by sending the children and their families on a special day out.  Each family gets to enjoy club level seats for a DC United soccer game at Audi field and a night of soccer, food, drinks and parking plus a swag bag of goodies from Team Mathias.

May 2019 $2487.02 donated to:

Nova Veteran's Association

50% of our tips for May were donated to the Nova Veteran's Association. Their mission is "to serve the most vulnerable veteran population through personal case management and caring support. We aim to be the non-competitive organization that convenes all groups whose proven performance supports our Military community; inspires action; empowers collective action; and is an important part of a positive outcome earned by those who have served our nation."

April 2019  $2566.69  donated to:

Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation

50% of our tips for April were donated to the Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation. The Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation helps homeless pets find their way into loving homes through rescue and adoption. They offer same-day adoptions and two-week trial periods. ALL pets are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Over 30,000 lives saved since 2001.

March 2019  $2628.33  donated to:

Marge's Peeps and DC/MD/VA ALS Association

50% of our tips for March were donated to the DC/MD/VA ALS Association, the local chapter of the national organization set up to help find a cure for ALS. The local chapter helps people with ALS in our local community and their families cope with the day to day challenges of living with ALS by providing information, resources (Chapter and community services), and support. The ALS Association holds an annual DC Walk to Defeat ALS, and Ono Brewing Company proudly supports the Marge's Peeps team as they walk in honor of their family matriarch, Marge Cuddihy, 35-year Fairfax resident.

February 2019  $2234.12  donated to:

Insight Memory Care Center

50% of our tips for January were donated to Insight Memory Care Center, a nonprofit adult day health and resource center providing specialized care, support, and education for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other memory impairments, their families, caregivers, and the community. Serving Northern Virginia since 1984, Insight offers a spectrum of holistic care, with a vision of a community where those affected by memory impairments can achieve the highest quality of life.

January 2019  $1758.24 donated to:

Bite me Cancer Foundation

50% of our tips for January were donated to the Bite Me Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit foundation in Fairfax County, Virginia. Bite Me Cancer was born out of an identified gap in support for teens fighting cancer by Nikki Ferraro when she found herself in treatment for a rare form of thyroid cancer at just 17 years old.

One of Bite Me Cancer missions is to provide teenagers with age-appropriate Teen Support Bags while they are battling cancer. Join us in supporting this worthy cause by visiting Ono Brewing in January.
