The goal of Paws of Honor (POH) is to provide veterinary care and products at no charge* for retired military and law enforcement K-9’s in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area that have served our country, locally or globally. Retired K-9’s deserve accessible, high quality veterinary care in return for their commitment and sacrifice for our country and the monetary burden associated with veterinary care should not fall on the shoulders of the officer/handler/owner once the K-9 has been decommissioned.
June 2019 $2894.14 donated to:
Mathias Giordano was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, cancer of the bone, in July 2012 at the age of 11, and lost his battle at the age of 13. We supported Team Mathias, a local non-profit in Leesburg, during the month of June in honor of Mathias’s birth month. Mathias loved soccer. We helped Team Mathias help local families impacted by childhood cancer by sending the children and their families on a special day out. Each family gets to enjoy club level seats for a DC United soccer game at Audi field and a night of soccer, food, drinks and parking plus a swag bag of goodies from Team Mathias.

50% of our tips for January were donated to the Bite Me Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit foundation in Fairfax County, Virginia. One of Bite Me Cancer missions is to provide teenagers with age-appropriate Teen Support Bags while they are battling cancer. Join us in supporting this worthy cause by visiting Ono Brewing in January.
